On 15/1/2023, the Constitutional Court issued a ruling for rejecting the unconstitutionality of articles in the Crime Prevention Law No. (V) of 1954, in a meeting of the court panel chaired by the Court's
Vice- President Mohamed Al-Mahadeen.
The court dismissed the appeal to argue the unconstitutionality of paragraph (3) of Article (3), paragraph (2) of Article (5), and Article (8) of the Crime Prevention Law on the grounds that they violated the
provisions of Articles (8, 27, 101, 102, 103 and 128) of the Constitution.
The ruling of the Constitutional Court affirmed that the legal texts subject to this challenge are devoid of any constitutional doubt, as the challenged texts are an expression of the will of the legislator and
did not violate the sanctity of the constitutional text and did not exceed its limits and do not constitute infringements on jurisdiction or confiscation of the fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed by
the Constitution, so this appeal is subject to dismissal.
