On 16/2/2023, the Acting President of the Constitutional Court, Judge Muhammad Al-Mahadeen, received a Libyan delegation headed by Judge Mohamed Abdel Salam Mohamed, as part of his visit to the Kingdom with the aim of reviewing the judicial and legislative experience. Al-Mahadeen expressed the depth of relations between the Jordanian and Libyan peoples and the bonds of brotherhood embodied by the leadership in both brotherly countries.
The members of the Constitutional Court presented the Court's position among the constitutional institutions, and an explanation about the constitutional judiciary and its competencies in Jordan before and after the establishment of the Constitutional Court in 2012. The court’s authority is represented in monitoring the constitutionality of laws and regulations in force and interpreting the provisions of the Constitution, and its role in protecting and elevating it. The two sides discussed the mechanism of accessing the court in accordance with the recent constitutional amendment and the law on the Constitutional Court. At the end of the meeting, the lawyers affirmed the readiness of the Constitutional Court to cooperate with the Libyan government and exchange knowledge and experiences with the latter government.
